Wychwood Cottage is situated at Banbury Hill Farm, just outside Charlbury. Once the entrance to a traditional stone barn, it has been thoughtfully reimagined as a cosy one‑up, one‑down hideaway. Nestled in the Oxfordshire countryside, it blends rustic charm with modern comfort to create a true home‑from‑home escape.
Inside, a warm open‑plan living and kitchen area welcomes you. The kitchen is compact yet cleverly designed, equipped with an electric hob, oven, microwave, kettle, and an under‑counter fridge‑freezer, giving you everything you need for a relaxed self‑catered stay. The living space invites you to sink into its plush cushions, unwind with a book, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet. For rainy days or slow evenings, a smart TV with Netflix is ready for you to catch up on favourites or discover something new.
Upstairs, the first‑floor bedroom offers sweeping views across the Evenlode Valley. Whether it’s the soft glow of morning light or the warm colours of sunset, the landscape is a constant reminder that you’re in the heart of the Cotswolds.

Step outside...
Step outside and you are surrounded by rolling hills, tranquil woodland, and scenic walking routes, often accompanied by a few friendly faces including sheep, pygmy goats, and donkeys. When you’re ready to explore further, follow our permissive footpath for a leisurely 20‑minute stroll into the vibrant yet picturesque town of Charlbury. The route avoids all roads and leads you straight into the centre of town, where a well‑earned pint or a glass of fizz awaits at one of three excellent pubs: The Bull, The Bell, or the Rose & Crown.
If you’re dining out, The Bull offers bold, seasonal dishes with a strong focus on locally sourced produce, while The Bell leans into traditional charm with hearty, comforting classics and a farm‑to‑fork ethos. For days out, Wychwood Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring some of the Cotswolds’ most-loved attractions. From the grandeur of Blenheim Palace to the buzz of Diddly Squat Farm and Clarkson’s latest venture, The Farmer’s Dog, everything is just a short and effortless drive away.
